Wayne O'Connor

 

Wayne O'Connor is a Sligo based artist whose work is chiefly inspired by his love of Myth, Fantasy and Folklore. Working primarily as a Digital artist, Wayne has had his work featured in several games and books. He is also a storyteller and arts educator, working regularly in libraries and schools around the country.

 

About Wayne’s workshops...

Wayne’s workshops will be based on Dungeons & Dragons in which the group shall join together in the world-renowned storytelling game of adventure set in a fantasy world of monsters, magic and adventure. Guided by Wayne, the player’s decisions determine the direction of the story and its outcome. The game encourages communication, teamwork, problem solving and creative thinking. But all wrapped up in an exciting and fun workshop session developing storylines, honing scripts and developing writing skills.

Niamh Mac Cabe

 

Niamh Mac Cabe is an award-winning writer and visual artist. She is also an experienced editor, mentor, collaborator/director on multi-disciplinary art projects, and facilitator on creative-practice workshops for all ages. Dublin-born, she worked overseas for several years in the Animated Film industry before returning to Ireland to raise her children. She is published in over forty literary journals and anthologies in Ireland, the UK, and the US. She lives with her sons in rural North Leitrim, Ireland.

 

About Niamh's workshops...

Want to write but don't know where or how to start? Inspiration is sitting undiscovered in plain sight, the devil is in the detail! Niamh will conduct her practice-centric creative writing workshop, with a focus on Flash Fiction. You will learn to weave words and ideas together, constructing your own stories in miniature.

The Wild Words Young Writers Group is a partnership project of Leitrim County Council’s Arts and Library services and the Reading Room Bookshop that evolved from the Wild Words Book Festival. It is funded by Leitrim County Council and the Arts Council. This series of eight workshops is funded by the Department of Health as part of the Government’s Healthy Ireland Fund administered by Pobal.
